It doesn’t matter where your musical tastes lie, if you’re anywhere from age 23 to 30 you no doubt grew up on the musical stylings of the Wu Tang Clan, and subsequently the solo career of Method Man. There was nothing not to love about his hilarious lyrics and downright silliness both on and off stage, and now, after being under the radar for a little while, Method Man has emerged in a low budget thriller called The Mortician.The film has Meth as the titular mortician who gets himself wrapped up with a notorious mobster looking for a missing kid. The official synopsis at Shock Til You Drop is a little bit hard to follow, but that doesn’t make the following pictures any less awesome. Sporting a very Dr. Watson esque look, Method Man pulls off the bowler hat, glasses and vintage coat better than you could have imagined. May we be seeing the genesis of a young acting career? We’ll see after the movie comes out, but he at least has the look.The Mortician also returns Edward Furlong to the screen after spending a little too much time working for Uwe Boll, but we’ll also see him again at the start of next year in Michel Gondry’s Green Hornet. Young Moneys Shanell has a voice as sweet as red velvet cake, but the singer/songwriter isnt your average R&B pop tart. On her new single Cupids Got a Gun featuring Nicki Minaj, shes as sharp with her lyrics as her boss Lil Wayne is with his rhymes. Shanell says the song represents the tough skin type of girls.Me and my homegirl Mika Means were actually in the studio and we were coming up with stuff and we started that song, Cupids Got a Gun, Shanell told MTV News this week. Its a love song, but its a love song told in a different way. Im not really a mushy person, so I express my emotions, its like, instead of saying I love you, its I f ing love you. So the way I write my love songs comes out different. And its this energy that I felt that it needed, cause I consider myself a boss type of chick and I got a tough skin. I thought Nicki would be perfect to be on this record to exemplify that boss type of energy. I played it for her and she jumped right on it.The song is the first effort from her forthcoming debut album. According to Shanell, Cupids Got a Gun wasnt slated to be the first single but after it leaked to the Web earlier this month it drew a strong response. As a result, she and her team are prepping to work the song as a street single to tease the upcoming LP. She hopes to drop that full length for the masses next summer. Meanwhile, she has her hand in other projects like her gig as the face of clothing line Married to the Mobs fall collection.The singer has also written a video treatment for Cupids that she described as a combination of Smooth Criminal and the movies Sin City and Kill Bill.

Julians mother Cynthia Lennon, Patti Boyd, George Harrison’s first wife, and Sid Bernstein, 92, the promoter who first brought the Beatles to the U.S., also came to see the exhibit, Lennon’s first. May Pang, Lennons girlfriend during his eighteen month “Lost Weekend” between 1973 to 1975, also attended — making it the first time she, Cynthia Lennon, Yoko Ono, Sean and Julian have all been in the same room together. The photos fell into two categories landscapes, and portraits of celebrity friends like Kate Hudson and U2, shot as they recorded their next album. Lennon said he became serious about his hobby when he spent two weeks on the road with Sean Lennon as Sean toured Eastern Europe. I surprised him on the road, Lennon says. I literally turned up at a gig.Lennon says U2 approached him earlier this summer looking for a studio to finish some tracks. He offered at his 14th century home in the South of France. The Edge came to me and said ‘Please take some pictures, Lennon recalls. Displayed were several intimate black and white shots of the band a close up of Bono’s weathered seeming face, a candid of Adam Clayton sitting alone on a white stairwell, and the Edge sitting in a booth on a plane, with a lyric sheet in front of him. To a degree, it’s a side of the boys that hasn’t been seen before … I just didn’t want to get in the way, Lennon said. The moment I thought there was any heavy air, I would clear out.One of the most striking U2 shots is of Bono in the studio, sitting underneath a headshot of John Lennon in his early greaser days Initially, I called it a Lennon sandwich, Julian said Now I call it ‘Someone to Look up to’ Bono was there, and I look up to him, and he looks up to dad Lennon also shot the band onstage in Vienna in late August They’re mates, so if they’re on the road and I’m in the neighborhood, I’m there.
